The short tour in December 1983 was a follow up of Dilip Doshi's team visit to Dhaka earlier that year. Bangladesh won their matches against the district oppositions, but lost the big match at Eden Gardens against the WB side.[1]
Raqibul Hasan was named captain of the Bangladesh team. The other members were Jahangir Shah Badshah, Rafiqul Alam, Gazi Ashraf Lipu, Ahemd Iqbal Bacchu, Nehal Hasnain, Dipu Chowdhury, Samiur Rahman Sami, Faisal Haider (WK), Assduzzaman Misha, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Golam Faruq Suru, Anwarul Amin Azhar, and Ramchand Goala.
